Glacier National Park

The Crown of the Continent

Glacier National Park is Montana's crown jewel, over one million acres of pristine wilderness straddling the Continental Divide in the Northern Rockies. The park protects some of the most spectacular alpine scenery in North America: glacier-carved valleys, turquoise lakes, thundering waterfalls, and jagged peaks that pierce the sky at over 10,000 feet.

The park is home to 25 named glaciers, over 700 miles of hiking trails, 762 lakes, and an extraordinary diversity of wildlife including grizzly bears, mountain goats, wolverines, and gray wolves. Going-to-the-Sun Road, the park's iconic 50-mile scenic highway, is considered one of the most beautiful drives in the world.
